Ultimate Scottsdale Guide: The Perfect Girls Weekend Getaway

Ultimate Scottsdale Guide: The Perfect Girls Weekend Getaway

Scottsdale is a destination that makes a girls weekend getaway feel equal parts relaxing and fun!

Between the sunshine, pool scene, spa culture, and great food, it’s one of those places that’s just easy. Easy to get to, easy to enjoy, and easy to build a weekend around without overcomplicating things.

I recently spent a few days in Scottsdale on a girls weekend getaway, and it was the perfect mix of slow mornings, great meals, and a little bit of going out. Here’s my ultimate Scottsdale guide, which breaks down exactly how we spent our time, plus everything I’d recommend if you’re planning your own girls weekend in Scottsdale.

Where to Stay in Scottsdale

We stayed at Hotel Valley Ho, and I would absolutely recommend it for a girls trip!

The vibe is mid-century modern with a fun, lively energy, especially around the pool. It feels stylish without being too serious, which is exactly what you want for a trip like this. The location is also really convenient for getting to restaurants and nightlife.

One of my favorite parts about staying here is that you really don’t have to leave if you don’t want to. Between the pool, spa, and on-site dining, it’s easy to build an entire day around the hotel.

Your Scottsdale Girls Weekend Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival + Dinner at the Hotel

We arrived Wednesday afternoon and kept things simple for the first night with dinner at ZuZu, the hotel’s restaurant.

It was the perfect way to ease into the trip. Good food, a fun atmosphere, and no need to coordinate transportation after a travel day. Sometimes keeping that first night low-key is exactly the right move.

Day 2: Pool Day + Spa + Dinner at Cala

Thursday was all about fully leaning into vacation mode.

We spent most of the day by the pool at Hotel Valley Ho, which has a great scene without feeling overwhelming.

We also booked spa treatments at the hotel, which I always recommend for a girls weekend getaway. It’s one of the easiest ways to build in intentional downtime and make the trip feel a little more elevated.

That night, we headed to Cala Scottsdale for dinner. The space is beautiful, the menu leans coastal, and the cocktails were delicious.

Day 3: Brunch + Dinner + Speakeasy Night

We started the day at Hash Kitchen, which is known for its high-energy brunch scene. The build-your-own Bloody Mary bar was a highlight! It made the entire experience feel elevated and fun.

Then, we visited the Desert Botanical Garden, and it was such a nice change of pace. The scenery is beautiful, with cacti and desert landscapes everywhere you look. It’s a slower, easy activity that still feels worth it, but just be prepared to walk a bit since it’s spread across 55 acres.

That night was probably the most “night out” of the trip.

Friday night was probably the most “night out” of the trip.

We started with dinner at Hush Public House, which had a more intimate feel compared to some of the bigger Scottsdale spots. The food was incredible, and it felt a little more local in a great way.

After dinner, we went to Tell Your Friends, a speakeasy-style cocktail bar that ended up being such a fun experience. It’s tucked away, a little unexpected, and perfect if you want something that feels a bit different from the typical Scottsdale nightlife.

Day 4: Brunch + Shopping

Saturday was such a fun mix of everything.

We started the day with drag brunch at The Hot Chick, which was a highlight of our trip. It’s high-energy, entertaining, and an experience that makes a girls trip feel extra memorable.

Later on in the day, we explored Old Town Scottsdale and popped into some shops and cafés.

Day 5: Departure

Sunday morning was slow and easy, which felt like the perfect way to wrap up the trip.

After a few full days of great food, pool time, and going out, it was nice to ease into the morning before heading home.

What to Do on a Scottsdale Girls Trip

If you’re planning your own trip, here’s what I’d prioritize:

  • Pool time (non-negotiable)
  • A spa treatment or wellness moment
  • The Desert Botanical Garden
  • At least one fun dinner out
  • A night that feels a little dressed up
  • A brunch to end the trip on a high note

Scottsdale does a great job of balancing relaxation with just enough energy to keep things interesting.

When to Visit Scottsdale

The best time to visit Scottsdale is in the spring or fall, when the weather is warm but still comfortable.

Summer is definitely hotter, but you’ll find great hotel rates and a more low-key atmosphere if you don’t mind the heat.
